Sanctuary Cities

Sanctuary Cities

  • Municipalities are in the best position to determine their needs and safety priorities
  • Cities do not need more unfunded mandates placed on them that will undermine community policing and lead to legal challenges
  • Police officers are not in a position to make immigration determinations and will inevitably lead to claims of racial profiling
  • Immigration enforcement is a federal responsibility

Enforcement of immigration should remain at the federal level to avoid Supremacy Clause violation and expensive legal bills.

We certainly are not advocating the breaking of any laws, but we  cannot support laws that will violate civil and human rights.
