Former House Speaker and runner-up in the Florida primary Newt Gingrich is challenging the distribution of delegates in the Florida primary.

The Florida Republican Party opted to change the dates of their primary against the wishes of the Republican National Committee and were penalized half of their original delegate count of 99. As per the rules of the party, any primary that is held prior to April 1 has to be awarded on a proportional basis. According to Fox News:

“The Newt Gingrich campaign is gearing up to challenge the results of the Florida Republican presidential primary based on the Republican National Committee’s own rules which state that no contest can be winner-take-all prior to April 1, 2012…

Fox News has learned exclusively that on Thursday, a Florida Gingrich campaign official will begin the process of trying to have the RNC rules enforced so that the Sunshine State delegates are distributed based on the percentage of the vote each candidate got.

RNC Chairman Reince Priebus warned Florida Republican Party Chairman Lenny Curry of the violation in a December letter quoting the rule, “…’winner-take-all’ states cannot hold a primary or caucus before April 1, 2012.”

Action Alert: Call Brian Sandoval and tell him to come back to the
conservative Reaganite tent. Tell him that there is no window for Latino
immigrants to become documented, however this country, democrats and
republicans opended wihdows and doors for them to come and work, without
creating a dignified status for them.In the spirit of Reagan, and of the
president that nominated him for the bench, George Bush, we call on him
to support Newt Gingrich for president.

In the spirit of Reagan, and of the president that nominated him for the
bench, we call on him to support immigration reform.Brian Sandoval is
the governor of Nevada, and as Mexican American. We are proud to see and
prove to the rest of America what we are capable of. However, it is
painful to see that he has turned his back to the suffering and the
realities of the people he should understand the most, and who share his
heritage. Gov. Sandoval supported the anti-immigrant Arizona law, which
in addition to marginalize undocumented immigrants, it also makes the
lives of Latinos be considered at the margins of America, curtailing
their opportunities to fulfill their potential. In sum, Gov. Sandoval
supported a law that makes us second class citizens. We call on Gov.
Sandoval to come back to the Mexican American and mainstream Latino
tent: we welcome him with open arms to help America understand that as
the largest minority, we are the pillars on which the future of this
country will be built, and if our children don’t have the right
opportunities, those pillars will not be strong enough. America will be
strong if Latinos are strong.

Call Brian Sandoval at the State Capitol: Phone: (775) 684-5670

or e-mail him through the governor’s website at:

I just heard Newt’s speech after Florida and I have come to realize that Newt is going to win the GOP nomination and be the next president.

I understand that most people think that Romney is most likely, but I do not agree. First, Romney has never shown the ability to get the majority of the votes in any primary. Second, Romney’s win in Florida took place with no actual consideration of Romney’s record or ideas — Romney’s entire campaign was based on the idea that Romney is the only person who can beat Obama. His whole campaign in FL was on attacking Newt. Third, the voting numbers showed Gingrich did very well in the Fl. panhandle, which votes like southern states. This suggests that Gingrich will likely sweep the South.

From Guest Blogger, HISPANIC POLITICO:

What do Donald Trump and Mitt Romney have in common? Both love to fire people. We all know Donald Trump’s infamous you’re fired line, but Romney is famous for firing people, too, via Bain Capital when thousands of families were affected when they lost their jobs.

Donald Trump, a birther who demanded to see President Obama’s birth certificate is endorsing Mitt Romney who ALSO received another nativist endorsement via Kris Kobach in January 2012. Mitt Romney is receiving advice from a known birther which is why he has promised to veto the DREAM Act and can never be trusted by Latinos, or any other minority group. He is who he surrounds himself with. Kris Kobach’s relationship to FAIR is clear and irrefutable – not only does he represent FAIR’s support for white nationalism in court rooms, he is responsible for almost all protectionist, restrictionist and isolationist anti-immigrant laws across the country. So there you have it – Romney is surrounding himself with nativists and white nationalist supporters via the John Tanton network. John Tanton has contributed to the Pioneer Fund and has strong views against the Jews. Mitt Romney chose to make a deal with the devil when he chose to make it with Kobach and for that he must never be voted for.

It appears that the likes of John Tanton would love more than anything to create a RACE WAR which is why I believe Mitt Romney is a dangerous man for the United States when Kris Kobach confirmed he was advising him. WE ARE FOR THE UNITED STATES, Mr. Romney — not a DIVIDED STATES.

Kris Kobach is the legal arm to FAIR who’s only solution to immigration is to simply have none — they don’t want to fix the broken system, they want to eliminate all migration completely.

From the SPLC:

Tanton on ‘the Jews’

In some ways, given his ideas, it’s not surprising that John Tanton would cozy up to white nationalists and their fellow travelers. What is unexpected, even among long-time observers of the FAIR founder, is his attitude toward “the Jews.”

In the late 1990s, Kevin MacDonald, a California State University, Long Beach, professor, was finishing up a trilogy of books that purported to show that Jews collectively work to undermine the dominant majorities in the host countries in which they live, including the United States. MacDonald said that Jews pursue these tactics — including promoting non-white immigration into white-dominated nations — in order to weaken the majority culture in a bid to enhance their own standing. He would later go on to speak and write for white nationalist groups across America.

Tanton liked what he read. On Dec. 28, 1998 — the same year that the last two books of MacDonald’s trilogy were published — he wrote MacDonald, saying, “I hope we can meet some day.” On that same date, Tanton sent a memo to Dan Stein and the FAIR board of directors about a MacDonald paper “on the segment of the Jewish community that has an open borders mentality.” The paper, Tanton said, “would be fertile for group discussion at the forthcoming board meeting.”

Earlier that month, on Dec. 10, 1998, Tanton also sent MacDonald’s work to Cordelia Scaife May, a now-deceased millionaire philanthropist who gave regularly to far-right causes and was a close Tanton friend. “I’m sure [MacDonald's article] will give you a new understanding of the Jewish outlook on life, which explains a large part of the Jewish opposition to immigration reform,” he wrote.

Tanton’s criticism of religious groups wasn’t limited to Jews, however. Over the years, he — like some principals of FAIR — lashed out at a variety of religious denominations, especially Catholics, for their welcoming attitude toward immigrants coming to America from the Third World. In his letter to the FAIR board suggesting a discussion of Kevin MacDonald’s theories, for instance, he described “the Roman Catholic Church [and] several of the Protestant denominations, the Lutheran Church in particular,” as being among “our opponents.” In an earlier, May 24, 1994, letter to Roy Beck of NumbersUSA, he said that “one of the problems with churches is that they see themselves as universal, and as transcending national boundaries.”

Endorsing Eugenics

For years, FAIR President Dan Stein has hotly denied that his organization had anything to do with eugenics. “Eugenics,” he wrote in a 2004 op-ed in the Kansas City Star, “is pure junk science, and it is utterly unrelated to FAIR’s efforts to bring order to immigration in America.” Two months later, in a press release attacking the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) for suggesting otherwise, the group called SPLC’s reporting “utterly specious” and “McCarthyist.”

The press release went on to accuse the SPLC of unfairly linking FAIR to “a long discredited pseudo-science of eugenics” by noting the group had accepted $1.2 million from the eugenicist Pioneer Fund, ending in 1994. The release also claimed that the idea that FAIR had an interest in eugenics had been disproven.

Apparently, John Tanton failed to get that message.

On Dec. 30, 1994 — at the end of the year that FAIR finally stopped soliciting Pioneer donations (after negative publicity) and issued its denunciation of eugenics — Tanton wrote to German academic Wolfgang Bosswick to defend the Pioneer Fund, saying its critics were the “hard (Marxist) left in the United States.”

Russell Pearce couldn’t win the recall election with a shill candidate, so he has decided to be the shill candidate.

On Saturday the Arizona GOP held its annual meeting and election. Chairman, Tom Morrissey put together a slate of “conservative “candidates. The slate candidate for 1st Vice Chairman was Stephen Kohut, Tea Partier from Pinal County. Kohut, is the new Chairman of the Pinal County GOP, halfway through his term. His opponent was long time party loyalist and activist Diane Ortiz-Parsons.

Over the holiday’s it became obvious that Ortiz-Parsons was going to win this election and the only way that Morrissey and his slate were going to win is if someone was willing to bring a gun to this knife fight. The bare fisted Kohut, who was losing badly, he stepped out of the race to allow the reloaded Pearce run for the position and to carry the slate to victory.

It worked; Pearce won the election of with almost two-thirds of the vote. But 48 hours off a fresh victory, he filed paperwork with the Secretary of State’s Office to run for the Senate in the new Mesa District, LD25. So why would Pearce run for this office if he never planned on serving his a full-term?

According to Arizona Republican Party Bylaws: “In the case of a vacancy in an elective office…the state chairman shall…appoint a successor.” Now with Pearce trying to win his old seat back, will Morrissey “appoint [as] successor” his original slate candidate?

Helping organize efforts for Gingrich in Pueblo is the Vice President of Somos Republicans, Steven Rodriguez. Somos Republicans’ mission statement is to double the size of the Hispanic GOP voting block in two years. The group endorsed Newt Gingrich’s campaign two weeks ago. In 2010, Rodriguez ran against state Representative, and now CD3 Congressional candidate, Sal Pace (D-Urination).

With Gingrich staffing up in the state, and the only campaign ad being run in Colorado a negative spot from Rick Santorum hitting Gingrich, we’re betting the former Speaker will be arriving any day now. Our sources say “stay tuned.”

If Gingrich does schedule a campaign event, you can find it on our comprehensive GOP Primary Candidate Colorado Event Schedule — the only one we know of in the state.

By Richard Danielson, Times Staff Writer
In Print: Tuesday, January 31, 2012

<snip>

The plaintiffs are the nonprofit Hillsborough Hispanic Coalition and Ralph A. Emmanuelli, 67, a Pinellas County Republican and the founder of UNO Federation Community Services, a nonprofit group working to integrate Hispanic residents into the American mainstream, the lawsuit says.

The complaint contends that the Republican Party’s primary schedule “results in severely limited influence of Hispanic voters in selecting nominees.”

“The early states don’t represent a proportionate share of the Hispanic voters in this country,” said Tampa attorney Michael Steinberg, who filed the suit.

Hispanic voters constitute about 9 percent of eligible voters nationwide, according to the lawsuit, but only 1.7 percent of eligible state voters in Iowa, 1.1 percent in South Carolina and 1.5 percent in New Hampshire. They’re about 13.5 percent of registered voters in Nevada, but fewer than one in five are Republicans.

The suit also contends that the GOP’s penalty of stripping Florida of 50 percent of its delegates at the Republican National Convention has “significant adverse effects” on Hispanic Republican voters.
