Tequila Party Slams Sens. John Thrasher, R-St. Augustine; David Simmons, R-Orlando; Garrett Richter, R-Naples, and Andy Gardiner, R-Orlando for voting against the FLORIDA DREAM Act

Phoenix, AZ — The Tequila Party joins the sadness of thousands of Florida students who dream of attending college and live without hope in a country full of possibilities.

Despite the many voices that advocated for passage of  two bills  that would have  given in state tuition to certain nonresident students if certain conditions are met- and another bill that would allow United States citizen children, who have a parent that is undocumented obtain in state tuition- the Florida legislature has voted down these bills.

The bill that would have granted in state tuition for United States citizens who have a parent that is undocumented died in committee last month. Punishing United States Citizen children, for the legal status of their parents is UN -American.   Following that tragedy, it was not a surprise that last week, the Florida legislature failed to join other States in granting in state tuition for undocumented students.

As stated by Florida Voices for Immigration Reform in a letter to all Florida legislators:”At least thirteen states have passed similar bills and as are now enjoying the benefits of having additional educational revenues that enables them to hire faculty, fund capacity projects for campus expansion and prepare students to meet the 21st. century workforce demands in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics decreasing the need to hire foreigners from other countries.”     These voices, along with university and college presidents, educational associations, business and religious leaders that added their voice to the pleas of students who went to Tallahassee last week with caps -   were not heard.      The voice of reason did not prevail in the Florida legislature.

The Tequila Party notes with a heavy heart, that the Republicans in the committee where the bill was discussed, with the exception of  Anitere Flores, (R), Miami- voted against it.  The Tequila Party notes that the bills were introduced by the few Democrats in the State legislature.  The Tequila Party feels the pain of the thousands of students in Florida that have had their dreams cut short because of fiscally irresponsible  policies pushed by those that advocate “enforcement through attrition” or “self deportation”.

Voting for the measure: Sens. Oscar Braynon, D-Miami; Arthenia Joyner, D-Tampa, and Anitere Flores, R-Miami.

Voting against it: Sens. John Thrasher, R-St. Augustine; David Simmons, R-Orlando; Garrett Richter, R-Naples, and Andy Gardiner, R-Orlando.

Mitt Romney’s Arizona Co-Chair (Sheriff Paul Babeu) Busted in his underwear

From Guest Blogger HISPANIC POLITICO:

Did the Mitt Romney campaign ask Sheriff Paul Babeu to step down from being their Arizona Co-Chair?  If so, why?  Does the Republican 2012 Candidate — Romney have a problem with Babeu being homosexual or does the Romney campaign have a problem with the claims of Babeu threatening his Mexican immigrant lover?  These are questions of inquiring political minds.

We have asked for the U.S. Department of Justice to bring forth an investigation of Sheriff Babeu’s recent activities to determine, if the Sheriff violated any federal laws by allegedly using threats of deportation to silence his ex-lover, Jose, here.

Remember the New York Democratic politician, Anthony Weinder who accidentally posted his unmentionables?  Well, new photos are surfacing around Sheriff Babeu.

Name that caption.

We now know why Sheriff Joe Arpaio is scared. Lt. Mike Stauffer has over 13,000 signatures collected on course to collect 30,000!

From guest blogger HISPANIC POLITICO:

I have great news to share with you!

I just left Mike Stauffer’s house who is running against Sheriff Joe Arpaio and WILL replace Arpaio in 2012.  We helped the Stauffer campaign fill out thank you cards to folks who signed his petition and we also dropped off some signed petitions we have been circulating to his campaign adviser. The National Tequila Party Movement has circulators who are volunteering and collecting signatures for Mike Stauffer so that we can ensure a good “ousting” of Arpaio the same way we witnessed with regard to the Jerry Lewis Special Elections when moderate Republican beat Russell Pearce during 2011.  Mike Stauffer a former Republican and now an Independent candidate is our “Jerry Lewis” who can beat Joe Arpaio in 2012!

We still have to collect signature sheets from the circulators that promised to help us oust Arpaio and we will send those petitions to the Stauffer campaign within the next couple of weeks.

The Stauffer campaign has already collected over 13,000 signatures!!! Mike Stauffer needs approximately 19,000 certified signatures in order to get his name on the ballot. Rest assured — OUR GUY IS GETTING ON THE BALLOT! Be advised that the Mike Stauffer campaign is on track to collect about 30,000+ signatures so they are doing very good!

If you live in Maricopa County and if you want to help us replace Sheriff Joe Arpaio with a good person, then please consider becoming a petition circulator! The National Tequila Party Movement will host a fundraiser in March.  Please email me right away if you want to help with the fundraiser or become a circulator.    It is our understanding that there are “anti-Arpaio” fundraisers sparking up around the Phoenix area but we are not seeing those folks contribute money to actual candidates who are set to run against Joe Arpaio.  We need MIKE STUAFFER for Sheriff fundraisers that will go directly to his campaign so that Arpaio can be replaced.  Mike Stuaffer is a candidate who is an Independent that is garnering support from Democrats, Independents, Republicans and Libertarians in the same way Jerry Lewis garnered support when he ran against Russell Pearce in 2011.

Email address is info@nationaltequilapartymovement.com if you want to help with our fundraising so that money can go directly to Mike Stauffer and not to anyone’s pockets or salaries.

MOMENTUM IS ON OUR SIDE!!

However, Lt. Mike Stauffer is now UNINVITED to attend.

Why?

Is Sheriff Joe Arpaio running scared?

The National Tequila Party Movement is collecting signatures on behalf of Mike Stauffer and I will be dropping signature sheets at his campaign meeting today.  Please email me at info@nationaltequilapartymovement.com if you would like to help us REPLACE SHERIFF JOE ARPAIO!

IMMEDIATE RELEASE

2/17/2012

Lt. Stauffer Now Un-Invited to Speak at Sun City West Candidate Forum

As you know, I was formally invited on Feb. 4, 2012 to speak to the Sun City West Republican Club – Republican Forum taking place tomorrow in Sun City. My campaign just received notice that the board decided today to un-invite me from attending this event.

I will continue to stand for openness and transparency in the administration of the MCSO and in the American tradition I will continue to speak directly to the people giving them the opportunity to make informed decisions.

We understand this decision was made by a few, and is not representative of the Sun City West community.

Sincerely

Lt. Mike Stauffer

Latino Group Blasts CPAC for hosting Hate Group to Speak at their event

The Tequila Party — Female-led Political Movement Blasts CPAC

The Tequila Party is outraged that at the Conservative Political Action Conference, Peter Brimelow, a British immigrant who is a Naturalized United States Citizen and founder of the White nationalist website VDARE.com –labeled correctly by the Southern Poverty Law Center as a hate group- was invited to speak on: “The Failure of Multiculturalism: How the pursuit of diversity is weakening the American identity”.

The Tequila Party demands that Presidential candidates Romney, Santorum and Gingrich denounce the inclusion of this speaker and his group.    Diversity is not pursued it is rather the essence of America.   Republican, Democratic and independent Latinos as well as Americans that agree with the message of compassion for our immigrants and the urgent need to reform our broken immigration system, raise our voice requesting those running for the highest office of this great Nation speak out against the inclusion of Peter Brimelow at the CPAC conference given that his website regularly publishes articles by prominent white nationalists, race scientists and anti-Semites.

The Tequila Party notes with great concern  that  the CPAC  conference organizers chose not  bring conservative voices that  have made the fiscal argument against the irresponsible immigration policies of “enforcement through attrition” or “self deportation”  such as:  the Cato Institute or the  business coalition of ImmigrationWorks-  but rather gave the podium to  a speaker who has spent much of his time “pounding the white nationalist message that the Republican Party would  do better to spend time its time attracting white voters rather than by reaching out to minorities”.

The Tequila Party calls on Presidential candidates Romney, Santorum and Gingrich to denounce the presence of the white nationalist Peter Brimelow at the CPAC conference and the absence of speakers that espouse immigration policies that would make our Nation globally competitive for the 21st. century.

Tough on Immigration Democrat targeted in State of Arizona – Kyrsten Sinema

February 13, 2012 by admin

From guest blogger HISPANIC POLITICO:

Remember the Arizona State lawmaker Kyrsten Sinema who was tough on immigration during a time Latinos were being kicked down? Well guess what?  She is running for Congress and the National Tequila Party Movement — a female led political movement will never support her and let her forget what she did when she decided to get “tough on immigration.”

I suspect she wanted her tough on immigration bill implemented because she knew darn well she was going to run for Congress and she wanted “in” on demonizing the immigrants.

Don’t believe me?  Read this story below:

Latino Democrat Steve Gallardo stands up against Kyrsten Sinema’s SB1225, her get “tough on immigration” bill

Stephen Lemons of the Phoenix New Times picks up the SB1225 saga and includes some more insight into growing Latino opposition to it.

Steve Gallardo stands up against Kyrsten Sinema’s ‘tough on immigration’ SB1225.

The right-wing loves Kyrsten Sinema’s “tough on immigration” bill SB1225, and indeed she has 10 Republican co-sponsors, but Democrats are not on board yet, and especially not the Latino Democrats such as Steve Gallardo.

Below is an excerpt from The Bird’s article that shows this cultural conflict, and it will only escalate in my opinion.

“I and many other members at the legislature have taken the stance that immigration bills really need to be put on hold for now,” Gallardo said. “Our focus should be the budget. Let’s focus on the economy, let’s focus on jobs, let’s focus on the deficit. That should be our focus.”

I have to interject and add that I strongly agree with Gallardo. We do not need any more immigration bills, and we don’t need to give Sheriff Arpaio more power to get “tough on immigration.” Focus on the economy!

FULL STORY HERE.

Kyrsten Sinema not only managed to piss off the Democrats, she has angered feminists, the gay community, Libertarians and Republicans, too, and they are coming at her with a vengeance.

This image below  is going viral on social networks and facebook.  In case Sinema decides to deny this or spin her way out of it, you can read it in the Tribune for yourselves here.

Read reaction from Arizona females with regard to the push back Sinema will be receiving during 2012.

Trisha Wright reminds us what Sinema said in 2006: “I’m worried that we’re (women) regressing. For instance, this supposed New Feminism. these women who act like staying at home, leeching off their husbands or boyfriends, and just cashing their checks is some sort of feminism because they’re choosing to live that life.

Kyrsten Sinema D-Phx (East Valley Tribune, Oct. 25, 2006 p. A14)”

Andrea Glasscock Garcia writes: “She’s a total hypocrite even among Democrats. She claims support of the GLBT community yet destroyed Steve Mays for being gay. I guess being a Republican was just that evil.”

Halina Reed wrote: “Awkward…maybe she was being sarcastic? Or maybe it was right after her divorce and she was bitter? Or, um…”

Birther/Nativist Millionaire endorses another Birther-supported Millionaire – Trump endorses Romney

February 3, 2012 by admin

From Guest Blogger, HISPANIC POLITICO:

What do Donald Trump and Mitt Romney have in common?  Both love to fire people.  We all know Donald Trump’s infamous you’re fired line, but Romney is famous for firing people, too, via Bain Capital when thousands of families were affected when they lost their jobs.

Donald Trump, a birther who demanded to see President Obama’s birth certificate is endorsing Mitt Romney who ALSO received another nativist endorsement via Kris Kobach in January 2012.  Mitt Romney is receiving advice from a known birther which is why he has promised to veto the DREAM Act and can never be trusted by Latinos, or any other minority group.  He is who he surrounds himself with.  Kris Kobach’s relationship to FAIR is clear and irrefutable – not only does he represent FAIR’s support for white nationalism in court rooms, he is responsible for almost all protectionist, restrictionist and isolationist anti-immigrant laws across the country.  So there you have it – Romney is surrounding himself with nativists and white nationalist supporters via the John Tanton network. John Tanton has contributed to the Pioneer Fund and has strong views against the Jews.   Mitt Romney chose to make a deal with the devil when he chose to make it with Kobach and for that he must never be voted for.

It appears that the likes of John Tanton would love more than anything to create a RACE WAR which is why I believe Mitt Romney is a dangerous man for the United States when Kris Kobach confirmed he was advising him.  WE ARE FOR THE UNITED STATES, Mr. Romney — not a DIVIDED STATES.

Kris Kobach is the legal arm to FAIR who’s only solution to immigration is to simply have none — they don’t want to fix the broken system, they want to eliminate all migration completely.

From the SPLC:

Tanton on ‘the Jews’

In some ways, given his ideas, it’s not surprising that John Tanton would cozy up to white nationalists and their fellow travelers. What is unexpected, even among long-time observers of the FAIR founder, is his attitude toward “the Jews.”

In the late 1990s, Kevin MacDonald, a California State University, Long Beach, professor, was finishing up a trilogy of books that purported to show that Jews collectively work to undermine the dominant majorities in the host countries in which they live, including the United States. MacDonald said that Jews pursue these tactics — including promoting non-white immigration into white-dominated nations — in order to weaken the majority culture in a bid to enhance their own standing. He would later go on to speak and write for white nationalist groups across America.

Tanton liked what he read. On Dec. 28, 1998 — the same year that the last two books of MacDonald’s trilogy were published — he wrote MacDonald, saying, “I hope we can meet some day.” On that same date, Tanton sent a memo to Dan Stein and the FAIR board of directors about a MacDonald paper “on the segment of the Jewish community that has an open borders mentality.” The paper, Tanton said, “would be fertile for group discussion at the forthcoming board meeting.”

Earlier that month, on Dec. 10, 1998, Tanton also sent MacDonald’s work to Cordelia Scaife May, a now-deceased millionaire philanthropist who gave regularly to far-right causes and was a close Tanton friend. “I’m sure [MacDonald's article] will give you a new understanding of the Jewish outlook on life, which explains a large part of the Jewish opposition to immigration reform,” he wrote.

Tanton’s criticism of religious groups wasn’t limited to Jews, however. Over the years, he — like some principals of FAIR — lashed out at a variety of religious denominations, especially Catholics, for their welcoming attitude toward immigrants coming to America from the Third World. In his letter to the FAIR board suggesting a discussion of Kevin MacDonald’s theories, for instance, he described “the Roman Catholic Church [and] several of the Protestant denominations, the Lutheran Church in particular,” as being among “our opponents.” In an earlier, May 24, 1994, letter to Roy Beck of NumbersUSA, he said that “one of the problems with churches is that they see themselves as universal, and as transcending national boundaries.”

Endorsing Eugenics

For years, FAIR President Dan Stein has hotly denied that his organization had anything to do with eugenics. “Eugenics,” he wrote in a 2004 op-ed in the Kansas City Star, “is pure junk science, and it is utterly unrelated to FAIR’s efforts to bring order to immigration in America.” Two months later, in a press release attacking the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) for suggesting otherwise, the group called SPLC’s reporting “utterly specious” and “McCarthyist.”

The press release went on to accuse the SPLC of unfairly linking FAIR to “a long discredited pseudo-science of eugenics” by noting the group had accepted $1.2 million from the eugenicist Pioneer Fund, ending in 1994. The release also claimed that the idea that FAIR had an interest in eugenics had been disproven.

Apparently, John Tanton failed to get that message.

On Dec. 30, 1994 — at the end of the year that FAIR finally stopped soliciting Pioneer donations (after negative publicity) and issued its denunciation of eugenics — Tanton wrote to German academic Wolfgang Bosswick to defend the Pioneer Fund, saying its critics were the “hard (Marxist) left in the United States.”

Mitt Romney has same immigration policies as Arizona extremist and defeated Russell Pearce

From HISPANIC POLITICO:

Mitt Romney and Russell Pearce have quite a bit in common.

Both favor draconian anti-immigrant SB 1070 laws.  Both have ties to Kris Kobach who supports white nationalist views imposed by John Tanton and NumbersUSA.  Both are members of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) a/k/a Mormon Church, yet they will not support the the UTAH COMPACT which is modeled after the Mayflower Compact.   Mitt Romney should have done the right thing and supported the Utah Compact from the beginning.  He promised to veto the DREAM Act and committed the ultimate Latino sin when he did that.  We praise the LDS Church for taking a lead on the Utah Compact and it is an absolute travesty that Romney will not do the right and compassionate thing.

When will these Republicans learn that extremism never pays?

Latino Group – Mitt Romney flip flops on DREAM Act: “DREAMers good enough to die in the military but not good enough for a degree?”

Mitt Romney flip flops on DREAM Act: “DREAMers good enough to die in the military but not good enough for a degree?”

The National Tequila Party is appalled and disgusted that GOP candidate Mitt Romney is only willing to allow our American DREAMer’s to adjust their legal status by serving in the military.  However, last month in Iowa, Romney was singing a different tune when he promised Iowans that he said he would veto the DREAM Act.  It is ironic that many DREAMers have been here since they were babies and that this country is the only country that they know.  They have been pledging allegiance to our country and flag since they have been in grade school.
Romney’s message to the Latina/o community appears to be “I am willing to allow DREAMERS to fight for our country” at the same denying our American DREAMers access to a college education.  What is wrong with Romney’s line of thinking?  We at the National Tequila Party believe that is very unfortunate yet very significant that Romney is willing to risk our children’s lives while at the same time delegating our children to second-class citizenship by promising to veto the educational portion of the DREAM Act. What this tells us is that our children are good enough to fight and die for this country yet, they are not good enough to be educated.
Now, Romney with his back against the wall and finally recognizing that he does need the Latina/os vote, he comes courting.  Conversely, Romney’s actions do not fool us because we all know who Romney’s friends are!  Therefore, the National Tequila Party is calling out to all Latina/os that are in the open-primary states to go “Vote for anybody BUT Mitt Romney” and send a clear message to Romney “NO MAS”!
