Marco Rubio Says The Dream Act Will Encourage Illegal ‘Chain Migration’ but his family entered through invitation of a relative, too.

Marco Rubio Says The Dream Act Will Encourage Illegal ‘Chain Migration’ (VIDEO) however, we note that Senator Rubio’s father, mother and brother entered the United States upon the invitation of a relative, what he has called: “chain migration”. Thereafter, they all enjoyed the benefits of the Cuban Adjustment Act. Today, if a Cuban national crosses the U.S. Mexican border illegally, a year after such entrance pursuant to this generous act, he/she can become a legal permanent resident. Many individuals would call that “amnesty”.

Where is Senator Marco Rubio’s “Right” Immigration Plan
Phoenix, AZ — After meeting in person with valedictorian Daniela Pelaez from Florida who was facing deportation, Senator Rubio restated his opposition to the DREAM ACT by saying: “it is the wrong way to do the right thing.”
The Tequila Party Movement calls on Senator Rubio to show us his way of doing the right thing. We want action and not empty words. We ask Senator Rubio to reach out to Senator Menendez who has crafted an immigration plan and roll up his sleeves to work for all American people and in a bi-partisan fashion to give our nation sensible immigration reform that promotes legal migration. Make our country globally competitive for the 21st century and offer an earned path for legalization for the unauthorized residents who have otherwise lived within the law. The time to act is now. We cannot wait after elections. We cannot lose another generation of graduating, talented seniors and let them live without hope in our country which is full of possibilities. It is time to move this policy issue out of the extremist politics which has hijacked CIR for years and instead promote good policy.
We want to see Senator Rubio’s leadership and plan to see his right way of doing the right thing. We note that Senator Rubio’s father, mother and brother entered the United States upon the invitation of a relative, what he has called: “chain migration”.
The right thing to do is to support a full legal immigration reform, but due to the lack of leadership at the Hill, we are willing to use stepping stones to accomplish the full enchilada. Typically a President will address a legal immigration reform plan after he is elected into his/her second term (as demonstrated with former President George W. Bush) and we cannot take chances on waiting anymore.

Somos Republicans has received a spike in new membership!

Somos Republicans has received a spike in our membership due to new National President, Adam Bustos, and new National Vice President, Steve Rodriguez, for their leadership. We are averaging about 20 new Latino Republican members per week. We continue to get about half a million internet hits since our strong immigration and Latino rights advocacy.
New membership dropped since the failure of the DREAM Act 2010. New members are telling us they are members of SOMOS REPUBLICANS because we are exposing flip floppers such as Senator Marco Rubio of Florida and former Governor Mitt Romney with regard to his endorsement of Kris Kobach who has ties to white nationalist organizations like FAIR. Rubio had the audacity to tell Newt Gingrich to pull his “Romney anti-immigration ads” but Rubio DID NOT have the audacity to tell Romney to withdraw the KRIS KOBACH endorsement before the Florida Primary elections.
Spanish media has identified both Rubio and Romney as out of touch with overall Latino sentiment on the immigration issue. SOMOS REPUBLICANS will continue to defend Latino and Immigrant rights and they will always do what is right for the immigrant community even though it is not popular to do so in the Republican Party. SOMOS REPUBLICANS became the largest Republican group in the nation because it was the only Latino Republican group in the nation that fought against the harsh Arizona SB 1070 law. It sparked national attention, new members and new leaders.
SOMOS is adding more leaders in New York, Florida, Georgia, Pennsylvania and more members across the nation.
The ghost of the failed 2010 DREAM Act vote claims one of our own — Joaquin Luna

Teen’s suicide a call for “politicians to stop ignoring” the plight of undocumented students, brother says.
By Pilar Marreror
Today, I talked by phone to Joaquín´s brother, 35 year old Dyer Mendoza who said that his little brother was accidentally born in México while the mother was on a trip 18 years ago and that she and her family have lived in the Rio Grande Valley for at least 37 years. We spoke in Spanish and in the following audio piece you can hear the brother talk about his brother´s death sending a message to politicians to “stop playing games and pass the Dream Act”. Listen: Here
He broke down during the conversation at the end, when he said he expected the death of his brother to be a message not just to politicians, but to other kids that they should not lose hope, because “there´s always a solution in life”.……………………..
From Arizona, activists like DeeDee Blase, [immediate past President] of the group Somos Republicans -republican and independent activists who are fed up with the republican hard line on immigration- told me that they will continue beating the drum and pushing politicians to take responsibility for fixing the problem.
“We´re not gonna let this go quietly. I´m still pissed off about 2010 when the Dream Act was rejected by the Senate and I feel politicians on both sides of the political spectrum think Latinos are passive, we need to prove we are not, that we are alert and there´s gonna be consequences”, said Blasé. “My point is that we should get rid of those who didn´t vote for the Dream Act. We will vote for Joaquín Luna”.

Be educated: Don’t vote for Russell Pearce. Find your Mesa, Arizona, polling place for November 8 Special Elections

The Russell Pearce Recall and special elections takes place tomorrow, Tuesday, November 8, 2011. Vote Jerry Lewis — the Republican who can repair Arizona’s bad image that Pearce created.
To find out where to vote if you live in Legislative District 18, please visit the Maricopa County Elections Polling Place Locator linked below.
Russell Pearce supporters are desperate! Here is their last ditch effort to take advantage of Latinos:
MESA, AZ – A robocall instructing Mesa voters to “protest” the Russell Pearce/Jerry Lewis Senate election has many Latinos claiming “voter deception”.
Days before the re-election vote for Arizona Senate President Pearce, Latino families living in Mesa’s 18th legislative district tell ABC15 prerecorded audio messages are calling their phones. A man with a Spanish accent says:
“Voters beware. If you plan to vote this Tuesday, you should know that both candidates for State Senator, Russell Pearce and Jerry Lewis, are Republicans. The only other candidate, Olivia Cortez was forced to withdraw last month. You can protest this one-sided election by writing in your own candidate.”
Critics say the message is targeting Latino voters to convince them not to vote for Jerry Lewis, since most would not vote for Pearce anyway.
The message rang to the phones of Gloria Chavez’s family. They say they’re strongly against Senate President Russell Pearce and his tough stance on immigration.
“Besides the fact that it’s infuriating and offensive, as an American myself, just because my last name is Chavez does not mean that I don’t know how to vote, or who to vote, or that I’m not informed,” Gloria Chavez said.
Chavez fears that if other Latino families listen to the call, it will take many votes away from Lewis and give Pearce an advantage.
“You’re purposefully trying to mislead voters, and that should be illegal,” Chavez said.
The man behind the robocall message is Ron Ludders. He is a member of the Tea Party and a committed supporter of Pearce according to Pearce’s own website.
Russell Pearce supporters continue with election fraud and taking advantage of Latinos / Hispanics

From HISPANIC POLITICO:
Russell Pearce Supporters continue to take advantage of Latinos and Hispanics
It isn’t enough for Senator Russell Pearce to refer to us as “Wetbacks” when he proudly stated he welcomed “Operation Wetback.” It is not enough for the
Russell Pearce supporters to USE the sham candidate, Olivia Cortes.
These people used Olivia (a Latina) knowing full well she had no idea on how to run a political campaign.
I repeat: They USED her! They disrespected her!
And they think we are going to forget this? While I am livid that Olivia allowed them to do this to her due to her low political education (she admitted this in the courtroom)…..I am more upset with Russell Pearce, the Tea Party, Greg Western, Shane Wikfors and etc., for abusing my fellow Latina sister.
It doesn’t stop with Olivia Cortes. Now they want to pull votes away from Latino Democrats and Indepedents as they continue to underestimate the intelligence of Latino voters. We have learned that the Pearce supporters have a robocall targeting Latinos because they want to trick us into throwing our votes away in Legislative District 18 (or primarily Mesa, Arizona).
Pearce has been on the dole his entire life, and his supporters have sunk to worst of the worst in frauding Latinos during an election cycle. We have heard a lot of claims about outside influences in this election from the Pearce campaign. The Lewis campaign learned about yet another one of these groups today while talking with voters.
Mesa’s Hispanic Democratic and Independent voters were called this Saturday and encouraged to vote for a write in candidate because Pearce and Lewis were both Republicans. Who was this anti-Republican group trying to suppress votes? None other than Tea Party Leader, Republican activist, and Pearce confidant Ronald Ludders. See attached voicemail.
Some things to consider:1) This message was intended to sound like it is from Democrats (“both candidates for state senator are republicans”)
2) The speaker has an accent designed to mislead-take a guess as to who this is target at…hispanic democrats.
3) It tries to play down the sham candidate Ms.. Cortes, by attempting to make her a victim (“the only other candidate, Ms. Cortes, was forced to withdraw”). Of course, this is not true. Olivia took herself out of the race.
4) A write-in candidate must still file with the state as a candidate. Simply writing a person’s name on the ballot does not give them a vote, unless they have filed with the state as a write-in candidate.
CRUNCH TIME! Here is how you can help Republican Candidate, Jerry Lewis, beat the corrupt Senator Russell Pearce!

From Republican, Jerry Lewis:
Friends,
Participating in our democracy is a great thing. One of the simplest (and most important) ways we participate is by voting. I’m sending this message to remind and encourage all my friends and supporters in Arizona Legislative District 18 to vote in this Tuesday’s upcoming recall election.
Many have asked what else they can do. That response shows me not just the strength of our message, but how engaged and willing the citizens of Mesa are to participate in our democratic process.
So here are 3 things I’d like to encourage my friends and supporters to do between now and Tuesday:
1. Vote. If you received your early ballot but didn’t mail it in, fill it in, and bring it to your local polling location on Tuesday. If you didn’t sign up for early voting, please vote on Tuesday. If you have questions about where your polling location please see this link.
https://voter.azsos.gov/VoterView/PollingPlaceSearch.do
2. Encourage your friends and neighbors in LD 18 to vote. This election is important not just for the citizens of LD 18 and Mesa, but for the state of Arizona. Use the next few days to educate and encourage your neighbors, family and friends to study the issues and vote. www.jerrylewisforsenate.com
3. Spread the word. Social networks can be fantastic tools. Reach out to your friends on FB by posting reminders to vote and encouraging them to study the issues, vote this Tuesday, and spread the word.
Here are some easy ways you can help this grassroots effort to elect fresh leadership in Mesa.
1. Repost this message on your FB page or send it as a message to your Mesa Area list.
2. Add your own message.
3. Encourage all your friends living in LD 18 to vote and all your friends in AZ and Mesa to spread the word.
Let us take our message viral and win on Tuesday.
Thank you,
Jerry Lewis

DeeDee Garcia Blase, Foundress of SOMOS REPUBLICANS Steps Down to Focus Exclusively on the National Tequila Party Movement
For Immediate Release
2 November 2011

Phoenix, AZ — The foundress of the largest Hispanic Republican Group in the nation, DeeDee Garcia Blase, will be stepping down and taking a leave of absence as President of SOMOS REPUBLICANS one year before the 2012 Presidential elections, in order to focus exclusively on the National Tequila Party Movement. The National Tequila Party Movement is the Latin counter-movement to the Tea Party and a national Latino Get-Out-the-Vote effort. It is a goal for the Tequila Party to provide political grassroots covering to the most immigrant-friendly politicians in the country. Blase recently changed her affiliation from the Republican Party to the Independent Party due to the anti-immigrant rhetoric. Therefore, we believe SOMOS REPUBLICANS should be led by a registered Republican voter and not an Independent voter. Blase has watched the Latino Republican voter registrations dwindle. In 2004, we saw 44% of Latinos vote for George W. Bush. In 2008, we saw only 31% vote for John McCain. Blase suspects the numbers will continue to dwindle for Latino Republicans in the post-SB 1070 era we live in, and feels it is more effective to work with a broader political spectrum expanding Latino voter influence in relation to the non-partisan Tequila Party Movement. Blase fully understands that Latinos are going to be a powerful voting block in 2012 and must be motivated to vote in the upcoming elections since Latinos will gain more respect through their vote.
Adam Bustos will be replacing the role of Ms. Blase as President of SOMOS REPUBLICANS. Adam is a registered Republican voter, and was a Precinct Committeeman for the Republican Party in the State of Arizona. Adam was born and raised in Arizona, and has a strong law enforcement background of 37 years working for large and small police agencies. He has at least 21 years of experience in Latino advocacy work, as he helped to establish the Arizona Chapter of the National Peace Officers Association (a national Latino-based organization with the purpose to help eliminate prejudice and discrimination in the criminal justice system; particularly Law Enforcement, reduce community juvenile delinquency and lessen citizen tension in predominantly Latino communities). Adam will continue to be a strong pro-immigrant advocate, and he will push for legal immigration reform on behalf of SOMOS REPUBLICANS.
About Somos Republicans:
Somos Republicans is a national watchdog group and the largest Hispanic Republican grassroots organization in the nation because of our leadership that is pro immigration reform. The Mission of Somos Republicans is to promote political education and information needed to make more informed political decisions. To inspire the Hispanic people to make a difference in their lives and the lives of their neighbors through collaborative political education, volunteer commitment and responsible participation in society.

National Hispanic GOP Group Partners With Prominent Republican in Support of Arizona Compact

Phoenix, AZ — The largest Latino Republican group in the nation based in Arizona is proud to announce our support and partnership with Daryl Williams of the ARIZONA COMPACT which is modeled after the UTAH COMPACT. Daryl is a prominent commercial trial lawyer in the State of Arizona and a conservative Republican with a degree in economics. Daryl is, also, a life-long Mormon and presently serves as a member of the High Council of the Paradise Valley Arizona Stake. He has served in several bishoprics, on several High Councils, and in many other callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS). His ancestors lived and are buried in Missouri, Nauvoo, and walked across the plains to Utah.
SOMOS REPUBLICANS has obtained an Arizona State Senator to sponsor the Arizona Compact in the next legislative session. The Arizona Compact is modeled after the Utah Compact, and we look forward to seeing this healthy idea come in to fruition. The Arizona Compact will help Arizona economically without detracting from the importance of law enforcement while recognizing the complexities associated with immigration issues that need to be solved at the national level. All leaders, whether state, local, legislative, community and religious, should join in this effort to have a positive effect on Arizona’s policy, image, free-enterprise economy, and humanity.
About Somos Republicans:
