Melendez Solidifies Frontrunner Status with Strongest Financial Showing
Momentum continues to build for AD 67 frontrunner Melendez while her opponent’s campaigns fall far behind
(Lake Elsinore, CA) – After the campaign finance reporting deadline Melissa Melendez has established herself as the undeniable frontrunner with a finance report that crushes her opponents. Melendez’s $71,398.00 cash on hand dwarfs the efforts of her opponents. Bob Magee reported $48,497 and Phil Paule a meager $15,659.
“The numbers don’t lie,” said Melendez spokesman Carl Fogliani. “Melissa Melendez has the momentum and no amount of sleazy emails from Phil Paule can change it. People recognize she is the true conservative in the race and are rallying behind her.”
After having a very successful week with earning the Family Action PAC endorsement, Melendez topped it off with the strong financial report while Paule’s campaign sent false emails to distract from his pathetic showing and dwindling support.
“I am not here to play politics. I am here to get California back in shape and fix our economy,” said Melendez. “People are tired of career political hacks and want someone with real life experience and a record of success in implementing conservative governing principles.”
Melissa Melendez is running for the 67th Assembly District. She is proud to have the support of key leaders like State Senator Joel Anderson and Assemblyman Jeff Gorell.
Melissa is a 10-year veteran of the United States Navy, where she achieved fluency in the Russian language at the Defense Language Institute, Monterey, CA, and then served as a Russian translator during the Cold War and Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. She is also one of the first women approved by the U.S. Navy to fly aboard EP-3E reconnaissance aircraft overseas to conduct intelligence-gathering operations in partnership with our allies.
After leaving naval service, Melissa built a transcription company, contracting with the Chief of Naval Operations, and providing services to the Secretary of the Navy as well as other top-level Pentagon officials. She holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA).

Man With A Gun Part 1: Tim Donnelly Trial Set Two Weeks Before Election
Donnelly gun crime to be on center stage for June Election
(Big Bear, CA) – The saga of Tim Donnelly gun crime continues as today’s court hearing set a trial date of May 22nd, just two weeks prior to the June primary.
That can’t be good news for Donnelly, whose campaign financial backers have already abandoned his re-election effort in the aftermath of Donnelly’s attempt to carry a pistol on a public flight. Donnelly filed with $26,000 in cash on hand and $25,000 in bills.
Nearly half of the newly drawn 33rd Assembly District is new territory for Donnelly, whose introduction through news stories of his detainment could not have been worse.
At the same time, local elected officials are lining up in large numbers behind the campaign of Republican Big Bear Lake Mayor Bill Jahn.
“The contrasts in this race are stark,” said Jahn spokesman Carl Fogliani. “Bill Jahn is a Navy veteran of the legendary SeaBees Construction Battalion, and he is a longtime small business owner and job creator. By contrast, Tim Donnelly has meandered from job to job before scoring just over twenty percent in a crowded primary two years ago. Being an Assembly Member is clearly the best paying and most stable job Tim Donnelly has ever had. Voters will figure this out.”
Bill Jahn and his wife Mary Jo have been married for 25 years and enjoy spending time with their six children and ten grandchildren. Bill has been a leading voice for the Inland Empire as the current President of the Desert/Mountain Division of the California League of Cities, Past President and active member of the SANBAG Desert/Mountain Division and has been elected twice as the District 11 Representative for SCAG to represent the communities of Barstow, Big Bear, Needles, Twenty Nine Palms and Yucca Valley

SOMOS REPUBLICANS in Latin In America News:
Santorum: Mexico trip makes Obama a bad dad!

And, just to make sure no Latino was unclear about where he stands, Romney named former California Gov. Pete Wilson as his campaign co-chairman in the Golden State. That’s the same Wilson who pushed for the Proposition 187 bill aimed at cutting off benefits – including health and public schooling – for undocumented immigrants, and earned the lasting enmity of Hispanics.
Somos Republicans responded with a call to “veto Romney.”
From the Desk of Rob Jesmer (NRSC Executive Director): Today is the anniversary of the Romney Care / Obama Care

Today is the second anniversary of the passage of [Romney Care] ObamaCare. And we have created a special video to let Americans know the cold hard facts about how this law will really affect us.
I encourage you to watch the video now.
It’s clear President Obama has broken his promises to the American people. Obama’s health care plan will drive up our national deficit, effectively deny people their choice of care, and actually cost more than our current system.
We need a conservative majority in the Senate. And one of the best ways to ensure that is to donate $25, $50, $100 or more to the National Republican Senatorial Committee.
It is particularly critical that we hear from you today. As you know, this month we are trying to raise $250,000 to file a strong end-of-quarter report. We need each and every supporter to make their contribution of $25 or more right now.
Our Republican Senators have also offered to help. This month every donation we receive will be doubled. Your gift of $25 will be equal to a donation of $50, a gift of $50 will be doubled to $100, and so on.
It really is an important goal we have set and we need each and every NRSC supporter to step up today. If we can raise the funds we need to, we will win four seats in November and restore our Republican majority.
What’s more, Senator McConnell has promised that when we do retake the Senate, a vote to repeal ObamaCare will be the first order of business.
We won’t be shy about saying what we think — but we need a Republican majority to make it happen.
Please visit our donation page right now to donate $25, $50, $100 or more to the National Republican Senatorial Committee. And help us win four more seats this November.
Thank you for your help.
Sincerely,
Rob Jesmer

Mitt Romney would not have voted for Puerto Rican Latina Sotomayor

More evidence of just how much Mitt Romney is a huge turn off to Latinos. Out of all the Republican candidates, Newt Gingrich is the best one for Latinos within the GOP race. For those who don’t know, Republican President George Bush Sr appointed SOTOMAYOR as Judge of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
Romney Doubles Down on Sotomayor
Since 2009, when Sonia Sotomayor was first nominated by President Obama to the Supreme Court, Mitt Romney has danced around his opposition to her nomination. Today, he took his criticism one step further, saying for the first time that he would have voted against her.
On Noti Uno, a Puerto Rican radio show, host Enrique “Kike” Cruz asked Romney directly if he would have voted against Sotomayor. Romney responded, “Yes. Judge Sotomayor and I have very different judicial philosophies. She is an activist, a liberal jurist.”
In the past, Romney said he found Sotomayor’s nomination “troubling,” and his campaign has called her an “activist judge,” but this is the first time Romney has said he would have opposed her nomination.

New President of SOMOS REPUBLICANS signs off on letter to FBI for investigation of Maricopa Co. Sheriff Office under leadership of Joe Arpaio regarding Ernest M. Atencio

(202) 324-3000Subject: Gulf War Veteran Ernest M. Atencio while in custody of Sheriff Joe Arpaio
Dear Mr. Robert Mueller:
We are seeking outside investigation with regard to the incident of Ernest M. Atencio, a 44-year-old Gulf War veteran who was recently booked into the jail in Phoenix, when he was allegedly tasered and suffered a heart attack according to his family. We have been told that an internal investigation is being carried out, however, we believe the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) should conduct a full investigation with regard to the possible excessive abusive actions by the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) under the leadership of Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
According to recent news media, his family told local TV station Channel 5 that he was a ‘loving and sweet boy’ who suffered from a mental illness and is now fighting for his life.
Commensurate with the Daily Mail Reporter, one U.S. veteran of wars in Iraq and Afghanistan attempts suicide every 80 minutes, according to new study. The report reveals 1,868 veterans made suicide attempts in 2009 alone. Many veterans face dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder, high employment and a loss of military camaraderie after returning from tours.
According to the Pew Hispanic Center, while Latinos make up 9.5 percent of the actively enlisted forces, they are over-represented in the categories that get the most dangerous assignments – infantry, gun crews and seamanship – and make up over 17.5 percent of the front lines. DOD numbers reveal 35,000 non-citizens currently in the active Armed Forces.
The MCSO should have been trained on how to handle war veterans particularly when there is a history of mental illness and they should be vigilant with regard to the excessive abuse of these veterans. We are seeking the help of the FBI. An investigation should be conducted by the FBI in light of the recent findings provided by the feds via the Department of Justice (DOJ).

Tequila Party to U.S. Senators: Pass the DREAM Act in remembrance of Joaquin Luna now.

From the National Tequila Party Movement.
For Immediate Release
November 29, 2011
Phoenix, AZ – As we approach the one year anniversary of the failed 2010 DREAM Act vote, the National Tequila Party Movement — a Latina female-led political movement is calling for United States Senators to pass the DREAM Act before they take their Christmas or Holiday breaks in 2011. We are asking they pass the DREAM Act in remembrance of Joaquin Luna, a young undocumented DREAM Act teen who took his life the day after Thanksgiving Day, because he felt he had no other option.
We hope the Republican and Democratic Senators who voted against the DREAM Act in 2010 will get on the right side of immigration before they are remembered like those in the south who did not vote in support of the Civil Rights Act. We will not allow the story of Joaquin Luna to go away easily. We will remember the actions of 2010 when politicians ask for our Latino vote in 2012. It is the responsibility of federal lawmakers to fix the broken immigration system. U.S. Senators get elected to do the job Americans expect of them and to fix broken systems that will benefit Americans and the American economy. It’s no wonder why mere State lawmakers are introducing unconstitutional and anti-immigrant laws — they are waiting for United States Congressmen and Senators to act and fix the situation under the Supremacy Clause of the United States Constitution.
Lead Co-President, Shirl Mora James, also Civil Rights and Immigration lawyer states:
“Our promise to Joaquin’s memory, we as Latina/os will not support any politician who did not support Joaquin Luna. Please go and register to VOTE and help the rest of your family and friends to register to VOTE. VOTE to HONOR the memory of Joaquin Luna and to create the Hope for the rest of our Latina/o DREAMERs who need a status adjustment to fulfill their Dreams. As Latinas, as women, as grandmothers, as mothers, as aunts, as sisters, as nieces and as cousins, we stand up today and scream NO MAS!”
We have seen hate crimes towards Latinos increase due to the untruths of anti-immigrant politicians that have spread like wild fire. In fact, bloodshed has already occurred in Arizona when a man killed another over the broken immigration system and issue. Before the killing occurred, the victim was called a wetback which is a derogatory term still being used by American politicians today. Brisenia Flores, a young and innocent little girl was killed while in fetal position begging for her life in front of her mother by the minutemen and border vigilantes. Now we are seeing undocumented youth who are turning 18 who feel they have reached a dead end, and where the United States and pledging allegiance to the flag is mostly what they know because they were brought here at a very young age.
In light of the 2012 Presidential elections nearing, the National Tequila Party Movement is preparing an immigration score card of United States Republican Senators and Representatives who continue to stand on the wrong side of immigration policy. The score card will be circulated to all High Hispanic populated states and our media contacts because we are desperate to prevent more stories like Joaquin Luna.
A viewing is set for Tuesday, November 29, 2011, at Rick Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. An account has been set-up to help Joaquin Luna’s family with funeral and other expenses at:
Capital One Bank
Acct Name: Joaquin Luna Lerma
Acct #: 8230051136
We will not allow Joaquin Luna’s death go in vain.
###

Descansa en Paz Joaquin Luna. Thank you Julio Salgado for this artwork and memorial of Joaquin Luna, 18 y/o DREAMER who this past Friday took his own life and felt he had no other option.
About the National Tequila Party Movement:
The National Tequila Party Movement is a female-led political movement. More females vote in Presidential elections than men and the strong Latina matriarch is emerging and we want to communicate to the Latina matriarchs across the nation with regard to our message of compassion towards immigrants and legal immigration reform. The Tequila Party is currently organizing a national tour of concerts, events, dinners and rallies that will encourage a massive Latino Get Out The Vote and political participation. This movement is a non-partisan movement. We don’t care how people vote, we just want them to get on the early ballot system, become consistent primary and general election voters.
