The President’s Timetable For Retreat
Posted 11/18/2009 07:15 PM ET
Afghanistan: President Obama has made a ringing commitment to fight the Taliban with one foot out the door. Seven years tops, he says, and we’re out of there. If he’s serious, we’ve already lost.
The president still seems to have trouble deciding what to do next in the country that he used to call the “central front” in the war on terror. But he’s clear about one thing: the need for an exit strategy.
Not a victory strategy, mind you, but a strategy that will ensure an American departure, preferably before he leaves office. Read on.

Hispanic Republicans Reject Government Health Care Takeover But Accept McCain’s Proposal

Phoenix, AZ – Arizona Hispanic Republicans are rejecting a government takeover of the U.S. health care system. We believe that a U.S. Government run health care system will end up costing Americans more while giving them less quality care; however, we believe that McCain has the right idea because his proposal gives the American people back their free will choices they need to get better care.
A complete government health care takeover would give the government the power to direct what insurance companies and doctors should do. Currently, insurance companies are directing doctors as to how to practice medicine and a government run health care system would add more restrictions, regulations and problems with America’s future health care.
The Congressional Budget Office indicates that the U.S. health care system will cost roughly $829 Billion over the next 10 years. This is too expensive and the American people cannot afford this with our current deficit situation. This bill is another example of a tax-and-spend piece of legislation that has systematic and long lasting control of our choices. Although some in Congress may have good intentions as it relates to health care reform, the situation lends itself to serious consequences later on that could bankrupt future American generations.
McCain’s campaign maintains that his proposal would make insurance more affordable for everyone, including those with pre-existing conditions. Most notably, McCain’s campaign maintains that it would allow health insurance companies to sell, and consumers to buy health insurance across state lines. McCain would also propose to make health insurance portable, which would allow people to take their coverage with them when they change jobs or if they lose their jobs. (Tanner, Michael D. (2008, May 6). McCain’s Health Care Plan: Radical and Right. Retrieved October 18, 2009, from The Cato Institute Web site: http://www.cato.org/pub_display.php?pub_id=9380)
Somos Republicans believe McCain’s proposal is the correct approach and we believe it supports a healthy and free enterprise system, and not a government controlled system.
Government has shown to us that they cannot control the tax monies they are currently receiving from the American people as it is. Government is unable to budget with the resources they are receiving and we are demanding fiscal responsibility.

Another Example of a Democrat Failed Promise

Last I checked, the democrats held the majority in the House and in the Senate. So why are the democrats not able to deliver after promising Latinos that they would make it a priority to pass reforma migratoria?

This headline may come as a bit of a surprise, so too might that fact that the warmest year recorded globally was not in 2008 or 2007, but in 1998.
