Subject: Rep. Virgil Peck’s Domestic Terroristic Threats
Dear Governor Brownback:
We want to thank you for your efforts in condemning Representative Virgil Peck’s comments. Because of the increasing national sentiment against his violent outburst, the only way to convey that such speech Peck conveyed is to accompany it with significant ramification to promote continued public safety. A zero tolerance policy should be enforced on this type of behavior.
We believe that Peck cannot be entrusted the responsibility to serve as chairman of the Transportation and Public Safety Budget Committee, and we are asking those in authority for the removal of Peck’s chairmanship because he has advocated violence in a civil society. A bill ought to be introduced that will make it a crime for a legislator to advocate violence while conducting official business. It is a crime to advocate violence on the radio by FCC guidelines, and it should be a crime for a legislator to advocate violence while conducting official state business. Your attention to this matter will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Sincerely,
DeeDee Garcia Blase Founder/President Somos RepublicansAbout Somos Republicans:
