Conservative National Leaders Take Message “On the Road” Urging Action on Comprehensive Immigration Reform
DALLAS, TEXAS. Wednesday, June 23rd at 2:00 PM EDT (1:00pm CT, 11:00am PCT), Conservatives for Comprehensive Immigration Reform (CFCIR) will take its National Press Conference Call “on the road” to Dallas, TX. This will be CFCIR’s 5th Call with some of the country’s most influential Conservative leaders, updating the broader Coalition on the on-going efforts to pass immigration reform.
Some of the country’s most influential evangelical leaders held a series of meeting in Washington, DC including a meeting with Speaker Pelosi, Rep. Mike Pence and Valerie Jarrett of the White House on Wednesday June 9th, to press for immigration reform.
This press conference call will feature those present at meetings in Washington. Speakers will include such as Leith Anderson, President of the National Association of Evangelicals, which represents 45,000 churches from over 40 different denominations; Richard Land, President of the Southern Baptist Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, the public policy arm of the largest Protestant denomination in the U.S. with over 16 million members; Rich Nathan, Senior Pastor of The Vineyard Church of Columbus, Ohio, a church with a weekly church attendance of 8,500; Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, President of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference; Fr. Estevan Jasso, Priest from All Saints Catholic Church in Fort Worth, TX; Rev. Lynn Godsey, President, A.H.E.M., The Hispanic Evangelical Alliance of the Metroplex and Texas Director of Esperanza For America.
This event will be open to public and press with a question and answer session at the end.
